The Axel Noze Band of Buddies program was created for preschool through elementary school youth. The goal is to help younger children understand how to ask for help (tell a safe adult) or call #988 if they see someone "extra sad" or unsafe—even big people.
Axel Noze shares his stickers with the very young, and they become his official buddies when they promise to TRY to be nice.Axel's mom and handler shares that Axel Noze has to be nice, even when other dogs are not. Additionally, we offer a special coloring page where each child can draw and then share who their special buddy is in their life. Or send a photo of a pet at home. As you can see, some of our fellow veterans and community friends have already begun to make their special friend an official member.
Axel Noze has his own #988 Band of Buddies Dog Tags, too!
When he isn't working for his mom, Axel Noze volunteers, shares the mission at local fairs and school events, or does story time with younger kids. Could you contact us to schedule a visit? You may download his FREE Coloring page or Official Mission Manual here. If you have questions about 988 wristbands for your youth group, please email our Contact Us page.
Meet Axel Noze
Axel is an AKC-registered Black Labrador Retriever and a working service dog for his US Army Veteran mom. His AKC name is Axel Yiayia's Hero Dog, and he has certainly lived up to his name.
Axel Noze and his mom continue their team training with Jessiffany Canine Services through the Wisconsin Guardian Foundation.
If you or someone you know is a disabled veteran, 1st Responder, or Gold-Star family member and would like to learn more about the support available through our friends at WGF, please visit their website at:
